Over the years we have had three bee hives on our property. Some years we were able to “rob” a couple gallons of honey from a hive or two. Other years, we left the hives alone because the summers were so hot and dry that the bees needed all their honey to feed the hive and keep them strong throughout the winter. We even fed them sugar water in the winter to help them survive.
